Seven benefits to stay on same job over 11 years

 Jan. 10, 2020

Introduction

I stay on same job over 11 years now. I like to think about seven benefits to stay on the same job.

7 benefits

I like to have a job with very little stress, so that I can explore more things in my life. I have a single life and I do not have chance to experience a lot of things in my life.

I like to learn how to invest on stock market, and I like to learn more about fitness, tennis, and all other activities I like to have.

I also need to figure out how to stay connected with friends, and also start to work on my contributions to intelligent world. I like to craft more things if I can.

  1. I can plan very well for algorithm and data structure practice;
  2. I start to have time to learn Microservice and system design;
  3. I start to learn more about investment;
  4. I have more ideas how to solve problems at work;
  5. After working full time 11 years, I finally have over $100,000 dollars savings. I am busy working with ideas how to invest.
  6. Investing is such great experience, I could not believe that I have time to learn.
  7. I think that it is better to stay on the same job, and I can learn more things in my life.

Actionable Items

I like to work on investments, and pray with wisdom to understand more about business. I need to learn how to build community in terms of investment.

APPN stock: Why Appian Stock Skyrocketed 324% in 2020

 Here is the link.

My notes:

  1. I should think about using Appian to build apps as well.
  2. Find out APPN app, download and play with it and see if it will help my current job - ?
  3. Check P/E ratio of the company

What happened

Shares of Appian (NASDAQ:APPN) spiked 324% last year, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence, as investors looked to technology stocks as a haven for their money during lockdowns and social distancing.

So what

Appian's platform allows customers to easily and quickly build apps without having to know much about writing code. And as the pandemic forced companies to focus their attention on attracting and communicating with customers online, many companies turned to Appian to build their apps last year.

The demand for an easy app-building service pushed up Appian's cloud subscription revenue, which increased 40% in the third quarter. In turn, the company's total revenue increased 17% in the quarter to $70.9 million, and adjusted earnings per share reached breakeven, outpacing Wall Street's consensus estimate for a loss of $0.17 per share.

Appian's growth in the third quarter, and its revenue and earnings beat, spurred investor sentiment in the stock and caused its share price to jump 121% in November.

Investors were also likely optimistic about the company as demand for mobile apps increases. The mobile app market was worth $106 billion in 2018 and could grow to an estimated $407 billion by 2026.

Now what

Appian's management has issued guidance for the full-year 2020, with cloud subscription revenue estimated to increase 34% to about $127.5 million. And it said on the third-quarter earnings call that 2020 sales will be $296.5 million at the midpoint of guidance, which would be an 11% year-over-year increase.

If the company continues to build its cloud subscription sales, and tap further into the demand for mobile apps, Appian could continue to see growth in the new year.

GE stock: My lesson as a beginner

 Jan. 10, 2021

Introduction

It is pandemic and full of opportunities. I was so busy to trade GE stocks, and now it is 100% gains compared to one of my purchase 500 shares back in August 2020. I like to write down lessons I should learn from.

GE stock

Here is the history of my purchase in my Ameritrade.com IRA account.

Actionable Items

I should budget $5000 dollars from my $20,000 dollars capital in IRA, and then build positions starting from March 27, $7.76, May 15, 5.52, and then hold 1000 shares of GE until January 2021.

I do not need to worry about those six months. I should invest more when market goes down. Do not worry about bankruptcy. It is best company for me to invest.

I should spend time to take care of my fitness, and enjoy the outdoor activities, and work on other projects as well.

Do not worry about money. As long as I have a job, I do not need to worry about market swings. Try to build positions at lowest price.

INTC stock: I like to be a value investor

Jan. 10, 2021

Introduction

I like to learn how to be a value investor in 2021. I like to take less risk since I have 10 years savings at my current job. I like to take less risk and focus on long term. If market is not irrational on Intel stock, then I like to take advantage of it, and buy 500 shares and then catch short term rebound.

$TSLA P/E=1700 !EXPLAIN THIS!
$AMZN P/E=93
$GOOG P/E=30
$BABA P/E=23
$INTC P/E=9

I’m crunching the numbers but according to my calculations Intel generated a larger profit in 2020 than Tesla generated in its entire history...

Wall Street is a popularity contest.
Who’s gonna be the cool kid for 2021?

Amazon didn't start with a PE of 93 remember?
In December 2012 AMZN P/E was over 3600
Stock price then was $180
Stock price 8 years later is over $3100

Irrational, and definitely won’t last.

TSLA market cap = about $1.6M per car delivered last time I checked. Ford: $16K per car.

Don't know of about Amanda much but goog is one of the most undervalued tech stocks on the market

The rationale some of the investors were giving was P/E ratio is not what matters, what matters is how many people are still willing to buy TSLA at PE ratio of 1500.

Seriously? Looked more like a greater fool theory to me. Traditional metrics of valuation are scoffed at, surest sign it is a bubble.

The bubble may not burst anytime soon though. TSLA may even hit 1 trillion valuation soon.
But this WILL unravel one day and it will be nasty for many gullible individual investors, the Wall St crooks know all exits to use as soon as the party ends, before others.

It really is over priced. Every car company is working on electric cars and new companies are starting up. The market really is not that large. It is just a replacement market for the current cars on the road. Over time they will switch to Hydrogen or Battery. The bottom will fall out of TSLA soon.

$46.00-$47.00 would be a nice entry
My expectation for 2021: Intel will cooperate more with TSMC, Intel is going to get some market share on the GPU front, new product lines and new image is going to help boost B2C sales, network might be down compared to last year, if Intel gets more exclusive rights, Intel will be better positioned. Intel is the main provider for server for Alibaba currently; and also provides notebooks to a lot of Chinese businesses.

If you see it drop below $50 (preferably $47), it’s time to load up. It takes panic to get in $40’s and normal trading gets back into $50’s.

I buy companies When they are on huge discounts, As warren says you don't know what the share price will do Tomorrow or in a year or so. Their will always be problems facing the company but if a you invest in a company who can afford a few missteps over the long term they will fix the problem and you will make money, Intel is a company who can afford few missteps and for that reason the problems will be fixed in few years and then Intel will be a trillion $ company with the T. Just watch.

Comparing GE and its debt with Intel is an idiotic adventure. Intel has a very solid Balance sheet in case you don't know. They don't face any of the problems GE faces.

GE collapsed because bulk of its earnings were from GE capital decision which is financial engineering, not real engineering. Then came 2008 collapse and it was done, Jack Welch kept it a secret for too long. Coupled with pension liabilities for old manufacturing division, GE was done coz it did not have anything real

GE has /had debt in 100s of billions of dollars, it was a castle in air. There is no comparison with INTC.

I should read about INTC stock, so that I can learn so many things through those discussion.

Sven Carlin: BUY Oil Stocks At Historical Lows - Investing Analysis

 Here is the link.

Oil stocks are at historical lows not seen since 1994 for RDS and XOM stocks. RDS stock is where it was last in 1994 and XOM's dividend is now at 10%. 0:00 Oil Stocks Price 4:11 Oil Price Analysis 8:45 Oil Supply Demand 16:01 Outlook 17:13 Buying Oil Stocks Oil stock prices depend on where will oil prices go. Where will oil price go is anybody's guess, but oil fundamentals are something we can think about and put that into a risk and reward perspective. Most western producers expect oil to be at $60 long-term, Russians see it at $40 and Saudi Arabia will simply set the price is prefers long-term. In order to invest in that, you need to know the level of risk you want to accept and understand the risk and reward of each possibility. Oil stocks that have businesses with high production costs will be hit hard if oil is at $40 and jump high if oil goes to $60. Low cost producers will jump much less, but will let you sleep better. Next video, RDS and Suncor stock analysis. My passion is to look for low risk high reward investment opportunities with a long-term business owning like focus. I apply my accounting skills and investing experience in order to find the best businesses to own that offer the possibility to lead me towards my financial goals. Long-term value investing principles

So, what are the principles of long-term investing

  1. Buying below intrinsic value
  2. Owning a business, not focusing on the stock
  3. Selling when the stock is above intrinsic value
  4. Buy companies that offer long-term quality - be it in the form of an asset, brand, location, scale or whatever.
  5. Have patience and let those dividends and investment compound
  6. Keep some cash on hand to take advantage of the opportunities the irrational - short term-oriented market offers
  7. Be patient

A laptop stolen from Nancy Pelosi’s office. Papers trashed or missing. Photos taken inside Senate offices. What will Wednesday’s attack on the Capitol mean for U.S. national security? Juliette Kayyem, a former assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, and a professor at the Harvard Kennedy School, joined Hari Sreenivasan recently to discuss.

Trump

  1. Language of fighting, language of disruptive
  2. Gap you know the event, March event -
  3. Another rally - Jan. 17 2020
  4. It is not earthquake, it is a planned event. January 6, 2020.
  5. Elevate random violence - plan the event - threaten - prosecuted - make groups under seat. Paranoid - thrive - sense of tolerance - not shamed
  6. President - 4 years not shaming - different leadership - behavior
  7. President - tolerance, and proxy - 4 years, shaming will be again. Kinds of behavior not acceptable

Leetcode: 180 algorithm | six months | strength and weakness talk

 January 8, 2021

Introduction

I like to evaluate my performance from 2020 and predict my first six months in 2021. It is a short research and I like to look into my potential and what to break through.

Strength and weakness

It is tough for me to solve 300 algorithms in next five months, so I like to figure out my weakness and learn the good strategy how to solve more algorithms. I need to find motivation to compete for excellence as a software programmer.

I do think that it is time for me to learn more things in my life. I do think that those work on 600 algorithms help me to experience how to do super great research, and find main issues in my problem solving.

Stay confident

I have to learn how to stay confident, and also I need to watch out who to talk and what activities I choose to do in next five months.

I have to keep learning, spend less time on social app. I need to learn how to communicate and keep my own business in highest priority.

Leetcode premium: Google | Last six months | hard level

 Jan. 8, 2020

Introduction

I have not worked on statistics on those 180 algorithms solved from May to December in 2020. I like to review and count those hard level algorithms solved based on Leetcode premium, last six months, hard level.

Leetcode premium: Facebook onsite interview algorithms

 January 8, 2021

Introduction

It is my first time to subscribe Leetcode starting from Oct. 2020. I chose to rely on Leetcode premium to select some good algorithms to practice. I only had limit hours to practice for Google onsite from Oct. to Dec. 8, 2020. Actually I was advised to get Leetcode premium for Facebook onsite in August 2020, but I chose to rely on my own preparation instead.
