BA stock: Boeing Rips Higher - It's in a Full-Blown Breakout

March 13, 2021

Here is the article.

Here are highlights:

  1. March 12, BA up over 6%
  2. 20% this week
  3. LUV and RCL push higher as vaccinations increase
  4. new orders to surpass cancellations
  5. February 2021 is the first month to prove that
  6. Check a few more links in the article

Boeing  (BA) - Get Report shares were ripping higher on Friday, up 6%. The stock continues to ride a wave of momentum, now up more than 20% this week.

On the one hand, the reopening trade is alive and well. Airline stocks like Southwest Airlines  (LUV) - Get Report and cruise stocks like Royal Caribbean  (RCL) - Get Report continue to push higher as vaccinations increase and the U.S. inches toward fully reopening.

On the other hand, Boeing is looking to bury a horrendous year and get its business back on track.

That starts with getting its new orders to surpass cancellations, something it did in February for the first time in 15 months.

Then a 737 MAX deal with Southwest put investors in a good mood a few days ago. Another order for 24 737-8 Jets on Friday is the inspiration for Friday’s rally.

Riding hot off General Electric’s  (GE) - Get Report deal with AerCap, Boeing stock is back.

Gray stock: My research and learning

Shares cratered by a dispiriting 51% yesterday after the eye disease drug maker released preliminary data from the Phase 2b ALTISSIMO trial of GB-102 - the company’s twice-yearly intravitreal injection of sunitinib - and candidate for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD).

Investors were let down by a different set of data, which showed that the Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of the 1mg GB-102 arm, came in 9 letters below the control arm of Eylea, Regeneron’s competing product.

On the plus side, after participants took 1mg of GB-102, the treatment displayed promising duration data with approximately 48% of patients staying treatment-free for over 6 months. Additionally, 62% of patients did not need any treatment for at least 4 months or more, with an overall median duration of 5 months. GB-102’s safety profile was favorable, too.

Despite being a secondary endpoint in the Phase 2b trial, BCVA is a major primary endpoint for registrational Phase 3 studies in wet AMD, and therefore, a potential key element in the treatment’s overall success.

Given that GB-102 showed very stable BCVA in the previous Phase 1/2 studies, Leerink analyst Marc Goodman considers the result a “negative surprise.”

“Management doesn’t have a good explanation for this result and will need to investigate this unexpected outcome further, but we are not surprised that the stock is off significantly, as investors are also clearly disappointed by the vision results,” Goodman said. “While we look forward to seeing additional granular data from the ALTISSIMO trial before making any changes to the numbers, we are lowering our POS [probability of success] today from 50% to 25%.”

The disappointing data also results in a cut to Goodman’s price target, which is reduced from $45 to $23. Despite the severe haircut, the figure still represents possible upside of a hefty 210%. To this end, Goodman’s rating stays an Outperform (i.e. Buy). (To watch Goodman’s track record, click here)

Since the data was published, other Street analysts have been less forgiving, with several downgrading the stock’s rating. Nevertheless, based on 3 Buys and 2 Holds, the stock still boasts a Moderate Buy consensus rating, backed by a bullish $19.60 average price target. Gains of ~165% could be in the cards, should the target be met over the next 12 months. (See GRAY stock analysis on TipRanks)

ACAD stock: Alzheimer | 48% plunge on March 9, 2021 | My investigation before investment

 Yahoo -> Finance -> Conversation

Everything considered: IMO this is a patient profile labeling issue

1. There are many types of dementia (Alzheimer's, Lewy body, vascular...).
2. Within each type of dementia there are subgroups: mild, moderate, severe.
3. We know that the FDA has asked for additional data on the PII AD study. This study (see abstract below) showed a pronounced benefit in severe Alzheimer's patients (P less than 0.001). For the entire patient population p=0.045. So the question is what is the p value for the non-severe pt population? Should Nuplazid be prescribed for all ADP pts, or only the subgroup with severe symptoms? I think this is what the FDA wants to clarify.

Worst case interim scenario: CRL followed by refiling in 3 months.
Final outcome: approval for DP; Nuplazid is first-in-class, best-in-class, with Breakthrough Therapy Designation for DP and has very positive support from the medical community.

Pimavanserin in Alzheimer's Disease Psychosis: Efficacy in Patients with More Pronounced Psychotic Symptoms

C Ballard 1, J M Youakim, B Coate, S Stankovic

PMID: 30569083 DOI: 10.14283/jpad.2018.30
Full text linksCite

Abstract
Background: Pimavanserin is a 5-HT2A receptor inverse agonist/antagonist and is approved in the United States for the treatment of hallucinations and delusions associated with Parkinson's disease psychosis.

Objective: Evaluate the efficacy of pimavanserin on symptoms of psychosis in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Design: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.

Setting: Nursing home residents.

Participants: Patients with AD psychosis.

Interventions: Pimavanserin 34 mg or placebo daily for 12 weeks.

Measurements: The primary endpoint was mean change from baseline at Week 6 on the Neuropsychiatric Inventory-Nursing Home Version psychosis score (NPI-NH-PS). In the prespecified subgroup analysis, the mean change in NPI-NH-PS and the responder rates among those with baseline NPI-NH-PS ≥12 were evaluated.

Results: Of 181 patients randomized (n=90 pimavanserin; n=91 placebo), 57 had baseline NPI-NH-PS ≥12 (n=27 pimavanserin; n=30 placebo). In this severe subgroup, large treatment effects were observed (delta=-4.43, Cohen's d=-0.73, p=0.011), and ≥30% improvement was 88.9% vs. 43.3% (p<0.001) and ≥50% improvement was 77.8% vs. 43.3% (p=0.008) for pimavanserin and placebo, respectively. The rate of adverse events (AEs) in the severe subgroup was similar between treatment groups, and urinary tract infection, fall, and agitation were most frequent. Serious AEs was similar with pimavanserin (17.9%) and placebo (16.7%) with fewer discontinuations due to AEs with pimavanserin (7.1%) compared to placebo (10.0%). Minimal change from baseline occurred for the mean MMSE score over 12 weeks.

Conclusions: Pimavanserin demonstrated significant efficacy in AD psychosis in patients with higher baseline severity of psychotic symptoms (NPI-NH-PS ≥12). Treatment with pimavanserin showed an acceptable tolerability profile.

NOK stock position

1500 shares of NOK - Need to learn more about NOK as a business. 10,000 people are laidoff in Nokia during pandemic. It is hard for Nokie to outperform the other competitor.

I like to keep 1500 shares of NOK for very long term. Meanwhile, I like to see if I can make some return by betting once or twice on peek or bottom of the price.

EYES stock: FDA approval | 10 times gain

Here is the link.

Shares of Second Sight Medical Products Inc. EYES, +103.28% soared 104.2% on heavy volume in midday trading Monday, bringing its two-day gain to 728.7%, after the Food and Drug Administration approved the company's Argus 2s Retinal Prosthesis System for the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa (RP). The stock paced all gainers on major U.S. exchanges, and was the most actively traded, as trading volume swelled to 222.6 million shares, compared with the full-day average of 26.5 million shares. The stock had soared a record 304.9% on record volume of 739.7 million shares on Friday. The company said Friday it received FDA approval of its Argus 2s system, which is a redesigned set of eternal hardware -- glasses and video processing unit -- initially for use in combination with previously implanted Argus II systems to treat RP. "We are very pleased to have received this approval, as it presents an opportunity to offer external hardware that we believe enhance comfort and aesthetics compared with the legacy Argus II system," said Chief Executive Matthew Pfeffer. The stock has soared 672.6% over the past three months, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.54% has tacked on 4.3%.

When I saw the stock crashed 10%, I should consider to purchase 300 shares IMVT at price $11.00/ share. I already purchased 50 shares with $15/ share. Therefore, I can make profit 300 * 8/ share = $2400/ share with $3750 capital. It only takes less than 3 business days.

IMVT stock has capital 1 billion dollar. It is excellent investment opportunity for market correction based on bigger share holder's action and panic selling.

I should get familiar with the stock and make good judgement call.

Just some thoughts before you jump ship too soon.

There's a sector rotation taking place from stay at home (technical term, not literally) to reopening stocks. This will continue as covid is dwindling and appears to be on the way out.

It has been brutal on apparel retailers. That's the past. The market looks forward. They say by about 6 months. So this stock should be priced for September. Right before the best selling season for all retailers.

In the first half of 2019 this stock was trading for $6.00.
When the pandemic was declared in March 2020 it was trading at $3.00. Now one year later it's again at $3.00.

However this is a much different company.

1 they are expanding their best brand (soma) to their existing outlets with store in store. Soma currently only has 259 boutiques. They have the potential for 900 to 1,000 additional outlets. This brand has grown 10+ % over the last 2 years. This will increase sales and profitability with very little investment needed.

2 the management has cut expenses by 20% over the last year. This will drop straight to the bottom line (net profit).

3 Covid has kept many of their shoppers away. That is changing as the vaccinations are going to the senior population first. This will lead to increased sales at Chico's (their largest brand with about 600 stores). Off the top of my head I can't remember the exact number.

4 Christopher & Banks is liquidating about 450 stores. Their customers are prime candidates for Chico's to target as new customers. Again increased sales.

This stock will be much higher in the very near future.

Ms. Langenstein (CEO) and Ms. Brooks (chairwoman) have done an excellent job saving this company. Now it's time to benefit from that work. Sales are the missing ingredient (see above comments).

The economy is primed. Government stimulus, tax refunds coming, high savings rate and sales are coming. No doubt about it. Easter, socializing is upon us, missed weddings on top of new weddings, etc.

People have been self distancing for over 1 year. They are ready to cut loose. They will need a new wardrobe for all this.

Just my view.

Roivant Sciences: Private company | wiki

Roivant Sciences is a healthcare company focused on applying technology to drug development. Roivant builds subsidiary biotech and healthcare technology companies. Roivant was founded by Vivek Ramaswamy in 2014.

History[edit]

Vivek Ramaswamy founded Roivant Sciences in 2014.[1] Focused on aligning incentives and improving capital efficiency, Ramaswamy's initial strategy was to in-license drug candidates and create subsidiaries focused on distinct therapeutic areas.[2][3] This strategy expanded to include developing earlier stage drug candidates and platform technologies. Roivant is a parent company to over a dozen subsidiaries ranging from Immunovant Sciences, a majority-owned public company focused on autoimmune diseases, to privately held Dermavant Sciences, focused on medical dermatology.[4]

Roivant also develops healthcare technologies through investments in Datavant, which helps healthcare institutions safely share data, and Lokavant, which integrates clinical trial data sources to identify and mitigate risks in pharmaceutical development.[4][5] As of 2019, Roivant had over 40 investigational drugs in development in 14 therapeutic areas across its family companies.[6]

In addition to Vivek Ramaswamy, the company's leadership includes: Mayukh Sukhatme, Matthew Gline, Eric Venker,[7] Rakhi Kumar,[8] and Ben Zimmer. As of 2017, Roivant was valued at $7 billion.[9]

At the end of 2019, Roivant formed a $3 billion partnership with Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma and transferred its ownership stake in five of its subsidiaries: Myovant Sciences, Urovant Sciences, Enzyvant Therapeutics, Altavant Sciences, and Spirovant Sciences, which now sit under Sumitovant Biopharma.[10] The deal included the option for Sumitomo to acquire up to 6 additional subsidiaries.[11]

In April 2020, Roivant dosed the first patient in a clinical study evaluating gimsilumab in COVID-19 patients for the prevention and treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).[12] Additionally, in April, Datavant Sciences announced that its technology is being used to create a pro-bono COVID-19 research database to help public health and policy researchers combat the pandemic.[13]

In January 2021, Vivek Ramaswamy stepped down as CEO and became executive chairman. Matt Gline, previously the company's chief financial officer, became CEO.[14]

IMVT stock: March 8 2021 | 44% Intraday increase | update

The stock price of Immunovant Inc (NASDAQ: IMVT) increased by over 44% during intraday trading as it went from a previous close of $13.51 to a day high of $19.46. Investors were responding to a report about the company’s majority holder Roivant saying that it is evaluating a buyout.

Roivant Sciences owns 57.5% of Immunovant’s outstanding shares. And the company is planning to make a proposal to the company of a potential transaction in which Roivant or an affiliate would buy all of the issued and outstanding shares that are not currently owned by them.

Roivant is expecting that a potential transaction would be at a per share price representing a premium to current trading levels “consistent with similar precedent transactions in the life sciences industry involving acquisitions of minority interests by majority shareholders” with the mix of cash or equity consideration to be mutually determined.

And Roivant is evaluating a potential public listing that would take effect prior to the consummation of any transaction. As Immunovant’s controlling shareholder, Roivant disclosed that it received nonpublic information about the company and its lead product candidate.

Roivant hired Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and SVB Leerink to serve as its financial advisors in connection with the evaluation of a potential transaction.

NOK stock: 4500 shares of NOK | near $20,000 US dollar capital | keep learning

 March 8, 2021

Introduction

I am working on investment. One thing is that the stock market is too high and it should be a correction. What I like to do is to sell those NOK stocks and purchase 100 stocks in next 30 days, and also I will keep purchase back NOK stocks in-between. The idea is to push myself to learn more business using those $20,000 dollars capital.

My idea

I like to come out some ideas to use my capital to learn more business. I have 1500 shares of NOK in my Ameritrade account and 3000 shares of NOK in my TFSA account.

I like to take those stocks capital to invest something else, and then purchase back after every day.

It is challenge since I have to work on short term investment daily using capital $7500 dollars in Ameritrade.com and then $15,000 dollars in my TFSA account.

I also think that NOK stock will go down more before it rebounds.

The benefit is to limit my total position's value in case there is a big correction in a day. I am still a beginner, and I like to learn more how to invest using limit capital.

Another thing is that I should think about the strategy to get those NOK position back, still have 4500 shares of NOK. I do believe that one day NOK stock will go up more.

Actionable Items

After careful consideration, I decide to loan those $22,000 US dollar to support Nokia as a company. There are over 10,000 layoffs in Nokia. There is nothing more Nokia can do for investors.

I do believe that it is better for me to focus on my research talent, and find those biotech stocks, and use my existing $20,000 dollars on my IRA account to invest those stock short term, like VIMT, two business day to purchase 500 shares from $11 and sell it next day $19 dollar/ share. I can continue to grow my IRA account. Also my research talent is toned and I am more confident as an equity researcher.
