Atea pharma(AVIR)

CVM stock: How to make a series of purchases without headache?

Oct. 19, 2021

Introduction

It is the first time I like to manage myself to practice small trades. I have $450 US dollar gains on CVM stock. My plan is to use those $450 US dollars to purchase CVM stocks, once the gain reaches 5% to 10%, the position will be sold and then put in the waiting list portfolio. I can warm up my trade skills very often. Small trade trains me to work on investment more regularly.

CVM stock | Oct. 6 purchase 40 shares| Oct. 19 40 shares sold | $44 dollar gain

It is important for me to trade for small amount gain since there is no commission. I also can learn better to manage myself, and understand the market better.

$44 dollars for two weeks is 10.71% for less than two weeks, and I like to see if I can start to build some positions based on my gain, and then I can keep track of more stock this way.

This is the way how I spend my leisure time. Enjoy reading.

GRTX stock: 68% plunge | 20 minutes learning about III trial

MALVERN, Pa., Oct. 19, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Galera Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: GRTX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing a pipeline of novel, proprietary therapeutics that have the potential to transform radiotherapy in cancer, today announced results from the Phase 3 ROMAN trial of avasopasem manganese (avasopasem) for severe oral mucositis (SOM) in patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer (HNC) undergoing standard-of-care radiotherapy. The trial did not meet its primary endpoint of reduction in the incidence of SOM. The Company is continuing to analyze the results.

“While the data, as in previous trials, showed reductions in the incidence, duration and severity of SOM, we are surprised and disappointed that the trial did not achieve statistical significance in its primary endpoint,” said Mel Sorensen, M.D., Galera’s President and CEO. “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the patients who participated in this trial while they underwent radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. As we evaluate next steps for this program, we remain committed to our goal of transforming radiotherapy in cancer treatment with our selective dismutase mimetics.”

Key findings include:

  • 16% relative reduction in the incidence of SOM in the avasopasem treatment group (54%) vs. placebo group (64%) (p=0.113) (primary endpoint)

  • 56% relative reduction in the number of days of SOM in the avasopasem treatment group (8 days) vs. placebo group (18 days) (p=0.011) (secondary endpoint)

  • 27% relative reduction in the severity (incidence of Grade 4 OM) of SOM in the avasopasem treatment group (24%) vs. placebo group (33%) (p=0.167) (secondary endpoint)

  • Avasopasem was generally well tolerated with similar rates of adverse events in the active and placebo arms

Dr. Sorensen continued, “We continue to be excited about the potential of our second dismutase mimetic product candidate, GC4711, in clinical-stage development to augment the anti-cancer efficacy of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC). We recently initiated a Phase 2b trial of GC4711 in combination with SBRT in LAPC based on promising tumor and survival outcome benefits observed in a Phase 1/2 pilot trial. In addition, enrollment is ongoing in a Phase 1/2 trial of GC4711 in combination with SBRT in patients with NSCLC. We look forward to providing updates as these trials progress.”

The ROMAN trial is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 455 patients with locally advanced HNC receiving seven weeks of standard-of-care radiotherapy plus cisplatin. Patients were randomized to one of the two treatment groups (3:2) to receive 90 mg of avasopasem or placebo by infusion on the days they receive their radiation treatment.

@Phil Brother, why the hell should anyone sell with all this amazing data? That’s the safest investment and the most probable short squeeze from the recent history of trading!! No offering possible till 20th Nov! Huge market! Huge potential and possible great deal with Pfizer! A 50% buyout chance it’s the most pessimistic scenario for this stock and that will at least triple the investment… People staying !

These impossible levels people are pointing out like 10-15 are actually not even out of the equation. BBIG is an example, started at 2-3 and within 2 weeks saw 12 before selling off. So let’s see, sky is the limit

Prog stock: Short squeeze | Understand short squeeze | float short

 Oct. 18, 2021

My notes:

  1. Google Fintel's Short Squeeze leaderboard - Prog, score of 97.43

Why Progenity Stock Is Soaring on Tuesday

The biotech stock, which has had a volatile year, is a favorite of retail investors because of its potential for a short squeeze.

Key Points

  • Progenity lost $78.5 million in the second quarter.
  • The company's stock has been heavily shorted.
  • It received a patent last month for a prenatal test.

What happened

Progenity (NASDAQ:PROG

×

) saw its shares rise more than 11% on Tuesday. The company's stock opened at $2.10 a share, then rose to as high as $2.70 a share in midday trading. The stock has been volatile. It is down more than 74% for the year but is up more than 128% the past three months. It is well off its 52-week high of $9.48 a share.

It is down more than 74% for the year but is up more than 128% the past three months. It is well off its 52-week high of $9.48 a share.

So what

The biotech company specializes in molecular testing products. Its last real news was last month when it announced it was able to patent Preecludia, its test to rule out preeclampsia, which is when pregnant women or new mothers develop high blood pressure and high protein levels that can cause complications with the liver, kidneys, the lungs or even seizures. The company's assay measures for free and dissociated placental growth factor, a biomarker for preeclampsia. At this point, Preecludia is still in clinical testing.

With no big news coming out for more than a month, the reason for the stock's rise is likely that retail investors see its potential for a short squeeze. It tops the list for Fintel's Short Squeeze leaderboard with a score of 97.43.

Now what

The stock is a gamble because it is a young company with little revenue and only a few products, mostly prenatal screening tests. In the second quarter, it reported revenue of $463,000, up $1,772% year over year, but it had a net loss of $78.5 million compared to a loss of $32.3 million in the same period in 2020. It said it plans to cut costs to focus on its pipeline.

It does have a decent-sized pipeline in women's health, gastrointestinal health, and oral biotherapeutics. For the time being, it is pinning a lot of hope on getting Preecludia approved. If that happens, it would be the first single test to rule out preeclampsia, which is one of the leading causes of maternal morbidity.

Like many early-stage biotech companies, there are a lot of ifs in Progenity's future. It's safe to say that investing in the stock is risky, in the short term or long term.

Occidental Petroleum stock rallies after Truist analyst upgrades, boosts price target to Street high

Published: Oct. 18, 2021 at 7:50 a.m. ET

Shares of Occidental Petroleum Corp. OXY, +4.82% rallied 2.3% in premarket trading Monday, putting them on track to snap a five-day losing streak, after Truist analyst Neal Dingmann became Wall Street's most bullish on the oil and natural gas exploration and production company, citing expectations that record free cash flow will continue. "[W]e believe the company will soon discuss plans to return its quarterly dividend to 2019/2020 levels along with the further possibility of an additional variable dividend and/or stock repurchase program," Dingmann wrote in a note to clients.
