The Weaver Creek Spawning Channel was built in 1965 to provide additional spawning habitat for sockeye salmon. In this channel, which is three kilometres long, sockeye salmon, and smaller numbers of chum and pink salmon, deposit their eggs naturally. Since this channel was built as an extension to the existing Weaver Creek, more salmon can spawn naturally than in the creek alone. The channel holds about 45,000 spawning adults. Recent returns to the system range from 1,000 to 100,000 adults. The spawning channel provides a stable flow of clean water for the salmon eggs and alevins in the gravel. As a result, the channel is protected from flooding and/or freezing that could kill eggs and alevins.

The channel is located between Mission and Agassiz, 12 kilometres north of the Lougheed Highway on Morris Valley Road. Take Lougheed Highway (Highway 7) east out of Mission for approximately 30 km to Harrison Mills. Turn north on Morris Valley Road and travel for about 12 km to reach Weaver Creek Spawning channel.
All tours on site are self-guided. There is a picnic area, public parking and portable toilets for general use.

A significant player in the agricultural industry, Corteva (NYSE:CTVA) focuses on specialty chemicals and seeds. Clocking in at number 208 on the S&P 500 list, Corteva currently sports a market capitalization of just under $36 billion. Though a vital component of our national infrastructure, the market unfortunately has other ideas. Since the start of the year, CTVA slipped more than 15% in equity value.
With that kind of print, CTVA might not seem an ideal candidate for high-growth S&P 500 stocks to buy. However, as boring as the underlying agricultural sector is, geopolitics has made (regrettably) more exciting. With adversarial nations competing for access to precious resources, the U.S. must not lag behind. From a purely cynical perspective, Corteva holds much promise.
Also, it may offer enticing value for forward-looking investors. Currently, shares trade at 1.37x book value. In contrast, the sector median hits a loftier 1.66x. Analysts rate CTVA a strong buy with a $68.92 target, implying over 38% upside potential.

善祥基金官网9月28日公告，旗下深圳市灏四方资产管理有限公司的日常运营遭遇不可抗力因素，为保障持有人的切实利益，公司定于今年10月18日为系列基金产品的终止日。其后，大陆私募圈传出关善祥已经过世，但具体死因不明。而据一些公众号文章和社交平台上流传的消息，关善祥是自杀身亡。
传自杀身亡旗下基金产品进入清算
综合中国《每日经济新闻》和《证券时报网》报道，善祥基金的行政服务人员在私募圈向投资者发出关善祥离世的提示，要求投资者登录“善祥基金”公众号，并表示，公司基金产品将进入清算流程。据了解，目前这些基金正严重亏损。
公开资料显示，关善祥是广东佛山人，家族世代务农。外界盛传，他在12岁因跟随炒股的父亲迷上股票，自此信仰价值投资。据称只有高中学历的关善祥曾经历从30万元人民币本金赚到上亿元，通过股票投资在28岁实现财务自由，也为他带来“中国巴菲特”的外号。而他的目标是自己实现500亿的投资目标，家族基金透过后代实现万亿的投资目标。目标是做投资做到120岁。
出身广东信仰价值投资
身在美国的财经评论人蔡慎坤接受美国之音专访时表示，相信关善祥突然去世与他身处中国，却依然坚持自己的投资理念有很大关系。
蔡慎坤说：“在中国无论是股市也好，还是整个投资环境也好，跟赌场没有太大区别，而且赌场还讲点规则，而中国的证券、资本市场连规则也没有，要讲究所谓的‘价值投资’，最后可能输得血本全无，就像恒大刚出事的时候，很多资本介入进去，认为中国政府肯定会出手相救，所以买了很多恒大债券，但是现在看来是赌错了方向。”
蔡慎坤说，缺乏监管是中国资本市场一大特征，充满了风险。投资者稍微不慎就会一败涂地。
蔡慎坤说；“投资银行也好，著名的会计机构也好，资讯机构也好，在这些大公司爆雷之前，根本没有发出太多预警。外界很难搞清楚它们真实的财务状况，所以说，是充满了欺诈，充满了谎言。在这样的一个投资市场，你要赌对的可能性，概率是极小的。”
房地产据说为关善祥带来第一桶金
至于为何关善祥信仰价值投资和长期投资还会出现巨额亏损，网上盛传，这与他踩雷中国地产股有关。《北京青年报》报道，关善祥的投资收益主要来自于大型地产商“融创中国”，而他人生第一桶金据说也是透过重押房地产获得。
蔡慎坤认为，中国的经济容易被政治因素左右。不少成功的投资者背后都有强大政治后盾支持。
蔡慎坤说：“中国政府主导要投资什么东西，你在这个方面介入进去的话，还会有一点机会。比方说，现在政府高度鼓励半导体行业、芯片行业，你能把国外的技术迂回地带到中国去，中国政府有可能高度重视，基本上都会给你开绿灯，你就有可能赚一把快钱，至于其他行业，尤其是现在房地产这块烂局，基本上已经很难收拾了，有可能（当局）就会放弃，最终的结果是‘一地鸡毛’，每家大型房企都会陷入非常艰难的状况。”
现居澳大利亚，毕业于山东大学的金融学者司令对美国之音表示，关善祥离世与投资失利的种种恶果有直接关系。而他号称“中国巴菲特”的神话也随着他生命逝去而彻底破灭。
司令说；“以前关善祥曾是一位以价值投资为核心的，比较推崇理性分析的投资家，曾经创造30万变百亿的神话，纵使他有回天之术，使出浑身解数，也难以挽回它的投资败局。其实这正是中国经济全面下滑的其中一个真实写照，也就是说，中国经济从过去比较健康、良性的这种价值投资的方向，变成现在投机者居多、千疮百孔的这么一个资本市场。关善祥事件带给人们的思考是如此巨大。”

Shuwen grew up in China and came to the States to pursue her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, which she received from Dartmouth Medical School. Next, Shuwen completed postdoctoral work at UCSF, followed by working as a researcher at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA.
In early 2014, Shuwen moved to the Spokane area and works at the WSU College of Pharmacy as an Associate Professor, teaching both Ph.D. and PharmD students. Shuwen currently lives in Liberty Lake with her husband, while her other family members live in California.
Before she got into enjoying outdoor activities, Shuwen liked singing Karaoke once in a while and occasionally doing some contradance in her limited spare time. Now that she is so consumed with the outdoor stuff, she doesn’t sing or dance much. Instead, Shuwen enjoys reading, often finishing an average of 50+ books per year.
Shuwen actually joined the Spokane Mountaineers "by accident" in the spring of 2014 because she wanted to climb Mount Rainier, since one of her PA friends had achieved that goal using an RMI guide. However, Shuwen quickly realized she was not qualified to take Mountain School due to lack of any previous hiking, climbing or backpacking experience. Therefore, Shuwen began her outdoor (and Spokane Mountaineer) experience by taking Backpack School, through which she completed her very first real hike with the club. Shuwen followed that up by taking Mountain School in 2015 and climbed Shasta and Rainier through the club with Brian Hoots as the leader.
Besides those big climbs, Shuwen has completed numerous adventurous hiking trips in a number of our western states, including WA, ID, MT, OR, UT, WY, etc. Her all time favorite is the Wind River Range South to North Traverse. Nearly all of these adventures were completed with her amazing hiking buddy Tyler Nyman, another Spokane Mountaineer and prior board member. For those of you who follow the Spokane Mountaineer Facebook page or look on the website, you probably have seen numerous photos from many of those adventures.
Shuwen says joining the club truly changed her life and transformed her into a real adventurer. To give back to the club and share her passion with others, she has been quite active with the club in the following activities:
