ASP.NET Core

ASP.NET Core is an open-source modular web-application framework. It is a redesign of ASP.NET that unites the previously separate ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Web API into a single programming model.[3][4] Despite being a new framework, built on a new web stack, it does have a high degree of concept compatibility with ASP.NET. The ASP.NET Core framework supports side-by-side versioning so that different applications being developed on a single machine can target different versions of ASP.NET Core. This was not possible with previous versions of ASP.NET. ASP.NET Core initially ran on both the Windows-only .NET Framework and the cross-platform .NET. However, support for the .NET Framework was dropped beginning with ASP.Net Core 3.0.[5]

Blazor is a recent (optional) component to support WebAssembly and since version 5.0, it has dropped support for some old web browsers. While current Microsoft Edge works, the legacy version of it, i.e. "Microsoft Edge Legacy" and Internet Explorer 11 was dropped when you use Blazor.[6]

(Elon Musk)

(Mark Zuckerberg)

Facebook

(Jeff Bezos)

(Prajogo Pangestu)

(Larry Page)

(Amancio Ortega)

Zara

(Sergey Brin)

(Steve Ballmer)

(Larry Ellison)

(Jensen Huang)

Suits | Donna

Donna is an excellent networker and was "tied-in" to the gossip and under-belly happenings of Pearson Hardman. Her network is extensive and runs through most of New York City. As a result, Donna is regarded somewhat warily by associates and partners alike. However, she is an excellent confidante and a great people person, which allows her to maintain relationships with people that Harvey cannot. She is social, fun, witty, and charming, and people enjoy interacting with her.

Harvey Specter

Harvey Specter is Donna's longtime boss and close friend. Both trust each other implicitly. They first met at the District Attorney's office, where Harvey was Assistant District Attorney (ADA) and she was his secretary; they have been a team ever since. After working for two years at the DA's office, Harvey took Donna with him to Pearson Hardman.

The two are extremely close. Harvey loves her and trusts her absolutely. He relies upon her and views her as essential to his being. As he told Jessica in "All In," Donna is irreplaceable. Donna, in turn, adores Harvey and is incredibly loyal to him, to the point where she would take a bullet for him. Both tend to view each other as two halves to the same whole, and Donna has put Harvey above all other relationships more than once. They take great pleasure in each other's company and enjoy their jokes and verbal sparring. (They have a pre-trial ritual involving a can opener and thumbtacks.) Over the years, they have developed an ease of comfort found only between best friends, and are very good at reading the other. No one knows Harvey better than Donna, and although Harvey generally tends to keep his feelings close to the chest, he is more open and vulnerable with her than he is with anyone else. She is privy to most of the details of his private life--she knows about Harvey's mother and brother, and is fond of Harvey's father. (She is also the one who informed Harvey of his father's death.) Donna is also one of the few people whose opinion Harvey values, and he listens carefully to anything she tells him, even if he does not always acknowledge it at the time. When upset, Harvey sometimes falls back upon establishing the boss-employee boundary--a boundary Donna is smart enough to know when to ignore, recognizing it for the emotionally distancing tactic that it is. She is likely the only person capable of keeping his reckless tendencies in check. Harvey, meanwhile, is equally good at reading Donna, and although Harvey is not essential for the mechanics of Donna's life, she relies heavily upon his unswerving loyalty, devotion, and emotional support. Despite being protective of his privacy, Harvey has let Donna's parents stay at his condo before (after she cried fake tears--a fact he only finds out later), and Donna has the spare key to his condo.

Donna is a gold mine of information for Harvey and listens in to all his conversations in his office (something Harvey does not discourage, since he leaves his intercom on for her). She is excellent at anticipating his needs, and takes great pride in being able to provide Harvey with what he needs without him asking for it. She views her job as to protect and take care of him, and will go to any lengths to do so. This was first proven in "Rules of the Game", where she gives Jessica incriminating evidence against Cameron Dennis after Dennis threatens Harvey, and again in "Break Point", when she shreds an incriminating memo that she fears will implicate him in a lawsuit.

The events in "Break Point" emotionally strain and confuse their relationship. Travis Tanner resurrects an old lawsuit against Harvey, accusing him of burying evidence and committing fraud. Harvey denies the accusations, stating that he never received the memorandum supposedly in his possession. Donna, however, finds the document in the file room with her date stamp on it. Afraid of the implications against Harvey and seeking to protect him, she hides the truth from him. Harvey nearly commits perjury as a result, and it is only Mike's quick actions that prevent him from doing so. After Mike informs Harvey that Donna found the document, Harvey storms into the ladies' room to confront her. A bitter argument ensues, during which Donna accuses Harvey of keeping things from her and she tells him that she shredded the memo. Feeling furious and betrayed, Harvey tells Donna: "I'm not going to fire you, Donna--I might KILL you--but I'm not going to fire you."

This makes their relationship extremely tense. Both Harvey and Donna are used to being perfectly in sync with each other, and for the first time in a long time, they are out of step. It frightens and confuses Donna that she could have misread the situation (and Harvey) so badly. Harvey, on the other hand, is swamped by his feelings of fury, hurt, and betrayal, and can see little else. He is hurt and upset that she did not trust him enough to come to him with her problems, and a part of him is frightened that she would go to such lengths to protect him. He is afraid that this is something he cannot fix. These are two people who typically know what to do in any situation, and for the first time, both are at a loss. These feelings are further compounded when Jessica fires Donna--Donna feels hurt and betrayed that Harvey didn't fight for her the same way he fought for Mike, while Harvey is uncertain as to how to fight for Donna. His own personal credo of "tough, but fair" creates a conflict within him: on the one hand, he loves Donna and views her as essential to his being; on the other hand, her actions make her termination more than justified. Harvey is at a loss as to what to do, and he is lost without Donna.

While Donna manages to go on with her now Harvey-free life in "All In" and "Sucker Punch", Harvey is incapable of moving on without her. His grief over her departure is so strong that he becomes incredibly reckless, and no one can hold him in check--not even Mike or Jessica. It is only at the end of the episode "Rewind" that Harvey informs Jessica in no uncertain terms that he's bringing Donna back, and it is only in "Asterisk" that the rift between Donna and Harvey is finally mended.

While it is implied late in the first season and throughout the second season that Donna's feelings for Harvey may not be platonic, she informs him in "Asterisk" that she "loves him like a brother or a cousin" and that she is not in love with him. It is unclear if we can take Donna at her word, however, since she is also an excellent actress and has fooled Harvey before.

During the episode "The Other Time" which is referenced in "Asterisk" it becomes clear during flashbacks that Harvey once tried to pursue Donna, but due to her policy of not mixing work with pleasure, she resisted his advances. However when both Donna and Harvey quit the DA's office Harvey visits Donna and she was already waiting for him with a can of whipped cream. Harvey steps into her apartment and she closes the door and he leaned over to kiss her. Although it's not seen, producer Aaron Korsh confimed in an interview that they slept together during this flashback. Afterwards when Harvey gets a new job at then Pearson Hardman, and he asks Donna to work with him to which she agrees on two conditions: a large signing bonus and never to speak of them sleeping together again. The episode also shows where their loose banter and can opener ritual originate from.

At the end of Season 4, after working for nearly 13 years together, Donna quits being Harvey's assistant and is now working for Louis. She decided this because her relationship with Harvey is not working for her. Louis also said to her in a conversation that Harvey is unaware how lucky he is to have Donna. Also Norma, Louis's own assistant, passed away. Before leaving she tells Harvey that she loves him.

After Mike Ross is arrested in the middle of season 5, Louis fires Donna so that she could become Harvey's secretary again and help him help Mike.

Suits | Stanley Gordon

Stanley Gordon, J.D. is a corporate attorney and was a name partner at Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke before Jessica Pearson and Daniel Hardman took over the firm and rebranded it as Pearson Hardman. He made his first appearance in "Hard Truths", dissolving Pearson Specter Litt and allowing it to restructure as Specter Litt in exchange for the firm tarnishing Jessica's reputation.

Shortly after, he conspired with Ellen Rand and Eric Kaldor to represent the former PSL senior partners in order to receive their buy-in reimbursed, although the true intention was to have Rand, Kaldor & Zane buy out and assimilate Specter Litt.

Gordon was a senior partner working for Arthur Reeves and his law firm. Along with fellow partners Schmidt and Charles Van Dyke, they ousted the firm from Reeves, forming Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke in the process. In 2003, Daniel Hardman and Jessica Pearson gained the support of the other senior partners and had Gordon, Schmidt and Van Dyke ousted, creating Pearson Hardman. However, Gordon retained dividend and certain rights in exchange for his partnership being bought out.

Over a decade later, Jessica was disbarred, necessitating Pearson Specter Litt to undergo another name change and have her partnership bought out. Knowing that paying Jessica off would cause an issue since they didn't pay any of the other partners when they left, Louis Litt informed Harvey Specter that they would have to dissolve and restructure once again, but because they had already done so before, they would require the signatures of either Gordon, Schmidt or Van Dyke. Louis notified Harvey that Van Dyke hated them after being defeated, and as Schmidt had gone off the grid in 2012, Gordon would be their only option.

Harvey approached Gordon, fabricating a lie that he required his signature to dissolve and restructure the firm for the sole purpose of letting the associate have an ownership stake in the firm. Gordon explained that he had given a charitable organization money in order to have his name on one of their buildings, but that the charity had reneged on their deal to spend the money fighting malaria. Gordon promises to give his signature if Harvey can either get his money back or have the charity have his name listed on a building, and Harvey manages to succeed in the latter. However, after doing so, Gordon reveals that he is aware that they wish to restructure in order to pay off Jessica and refuses to give his signature unless they bring him back as name partner.

Returning to the firm, Harvey notifies Louis and Donna Paulsen regarding Gordon's stipulation, although Louis deduces that Gordon doesn't really wish to return as name partner but merely wishes to have vengeance on Jessica. Louis suggests that the firm release an official statement denouncing their allegiance to Jessica in exchange for Gordon's signature, and Gordon accepts.[1]

Shortly after, Gordon returns to his position as a corporate attorney in order to represent the former Pearson Specter Litt partners who are now employed at Rand, Kaldor & Zane, who wish to have their partnerships reimbursed, as they were all refused payment with the sole exception made for Jessica. Gordon, however, suggests an alternative – that Specter Litt merely hire the senior partners back in exchange for them dropping their claim. Harvey and Louis initially refuse, suspecting that Gordon's plan is to have those senior partners hire him at Specter Litt after they return, although Gordon informs them that he is willing to add a stipulation to the agreement that would prevent him from being hired at Specter Litt. However, Louis quickly realizes that Gordon is working with Rand, Kaldor & Zane, and that their plan involves having the partners return to Specter Litt only to use their voting power to oust Harvey and himself and to sell the firm to Rand, Kaldor & Zane, who would then assimilate them, eliminating Specter Litt's existence.[2]

As Robert Zane was not involved in the scheme and was being betrayed by his fellow partners, Ellen Rand and Eric Kaldor, Mike Ross convinced Robert to leave his firm and join Specter Litt, bringing with him his loyal senior partners who would outvote the former PSL partners and therefore would allow Specter Litt to continue operating. Louis later signed Gordon's settlement, with the former PSL partners being hired back at Specter Litt with their lawsuit being dropped in the process, although Robert intruded on the meeting and informed Gordon that he had joined Specter Litt. Realizing that his plan had been foiled, Gordon lashed out at Robert, claiming that he had always known Robert had feelings for Jessica before storming out.[3]

Suits | Charles Van Dyke

Charles Van Dyke, J.D. is a corporate attorney and was the name and managing partner of Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke before Jessica Pearson and Daniel Hardman took over the firm and rebranded it as Pearson Hardman. He made his sole appearance in "Know When to Fold 'Em" in an attempt to take Jessica down, although he was bested when Jessica had Louis Litt dissolve Pearson Specter as an LLP and have it restructured as an LLC.

History

Charles Van Dyke was a senior partner working for Arthur Reeves and his law firm. Along with fellow partners Stanley Gordon and Schmidt, they ousted the firm from Reeves, forming Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke in the process. Charles Van Dyke was responsible for the hiring of Jessica Pearson, although he only did so because she was female and black, and wanted to fulfill a diversity quota, something he shared with Daniel Hardman.

In 2003, Daniel and Jessica gained the support of the other senior partners and had Gordon, Schmidt and Van Dyke ousted, creating Pearson Hardman. However, Van Dyke retained dividend and certain rights in exchange for his partnership being bought out.

Over a decade later, Van Dyke paid a visit to Pearson Specter, demanding an increase to his dividends; when Jessica refused, he filed an action to audit their books. Jessica enlisted the aid of Louis Litt, who dissolved and restructured the firm from an LLP to an LLC to prevent Van Dyke from succeeding.[1]

Two years later, Jessica was disbarred, necessitating the firm to undergo another name change and have her partnership bought out. Knowing that paying Jessica off would cause an issue since they didn't pay any of the other partners when they left, Louis informed Harvey Specter that they would have to dissolve and restructure once again, but because they had already done so before, they would require the signatures of either Gordon, Schmidt or Van Dyke. Louis notified Harvey that Van Dyke hated them after being defeated, and as Schmidt had gone off the grid in 2012, Gordon would be their only option.[2]

Suits | Jessica Lourdes Pearson

Jessica Lourdes Pearson, J.D. is the former managing partner of Pearson Specter Litt and current aide to the mayor of Chicago. She began to her legal career after being hired by Charles Van Dyke, one of the three name partners at Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke, due to the fact that she was black and female and the firm wished to fulfill a diversity quota. She made her way up the firm's ranks and, after becoming a senior partner, conspired with Daniel Hardman to oust the three partners and restructure the firm as Pearson Hardman, with Hardman taking over the reins as managing partner.

However, when Jessica discovered that Hardman was stealing money from the firm and its clients in order to fund an extramarital affair, Jessica and her associate Harvey Specter blackmailed him into resigning from the firm, with the public story being that Hardman stepped down of his volition to take care of his wife, who had cancer. Jessica then became the firm's new managing partner and Harvey was promoted to junior partner, and the firm flourished.

Five years later, Hardman returns after his wife passes away, and successfully regains his former position as managing partner. With the help of Mike Ross, Hardman is ousted for a second time and Jessica is able to regain her title. With their financial funds being depleted after Hardman allies with the firm's enemies, Jessica merges with Darby International to form Pearson Darby, which becomes Pearson Darby Specter when Jessica promotes Harvey to name partner. Mike, Harvey and Jessica eventually evict Darby, and the firm undergoes a name change once more by becoming Pearson Specter, and again to Pearson Specter Litt when Louis Litt discovers Mike Ross' secret and leverages himself to be name partner. After working with Rachel Zane on a case, Jessica realizes she forgot why she became a lawyer in the first place and steps down, leaving the firm to Harvey and Louis, with the former taking over as managing partner.

Suits | Anita Gibbs

Anita Gibbs is an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the lead prosecutor in the Mike Ross case when Mike is charged for practicing law without a license. She was on New York Bar Exam review board at the time of Mike's hearing for entering the bar. She planned to not allow Mike to become a member of the bar, but Jessica Pearson reminded her of her compassion and she allowed for Mike to become a member of the Bar.

Suits | Evan Smith | Lawyer

Evan Smith is a corporate attorney working for Hackett Cropper Klein. After being informed by Joe Henderson that Liberty Rail was responsible for the crash, Mike Ross of Pearson Specter Litt attempted to strong-arm Evan into a settlement and an admission, although she refused, presenting Mike with evidence that Joe was a repeat whistle-blower who constantly filed lawsuits in order to become wealthy. After Donna Paulsen impersonated a NTSB member to unlawfully gain Liberty Rail files, Harvey Specter and Mike demanded financial compensation and an admission; however, Evan showed Harvey footage of Donna's actions, informed him that not only would there be no settlement, but that she would report Donna's crime to District Attorney Terrence Wolf.[1]

In an attempt to protect Donna, Harvey met with Evan and offered to drop the case in exchange for dropping the charges against Donna, although Evan refused. After Mike discovered that Liberty Rail had paid off Joe and train conductor Michael Jaworski, Harvey financially supported the two to get them on his side, allowing him to file a new lawsuit and subpoena the files Donna stole, which would then become admissible and damage Liberty Rail; in addition, Evan would be unable to work as she would have to in trials defending herself for a few years, as Jaworski was stating it was Evan and not Liberty Rail who covered up the train incident. Harvey offered Evan the chance to have the charges against Liberty Rail and herself dropped if she committed obstruction of justice to recant the Liberty Rail employee testifying against Donna, which she accepted.[2]

After Mike was being prosecuted for fraud by Anita Gibbs, Harvey made a deal with Evan where Evan would give him incriminating files on Liberty Rail in exchange for Evan being allowed to poach associates and clients from Pearson Specter Litt, which Harvey agreed to since the associates and clients were leaving them anyways.[3
