Application Developer, Learning Technologies - Vancouver | Emily Carr University of Art and Design

 

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field with an emphasis on web-based technologies.
• Minimum three years' experience in learning technologies, web design, configuration, user interface development and management.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML5, CSS, and MySQL.
• Experience with Application development and support models.
• Experience with Application and Database integration dependencies.
• Experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Moodle.
• Knowledge of security best practices for end users.
• WordPress, Drupal, or MediaWiki experience is an asset.
• Experience working in an ITIL-based service environment is an asset.
• Experience with a version control system (Subversion or GitHub) is an asset.
• Ability to integrate web-based applications with proprietary and open-source software.
• Proven ability to write utilities, scripts, and web-based applications in an open-source environment.
• Proven systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plan and organize effectively, meet deadlines, and prioritize needs and demands.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent technical writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as productively and supportively in a team environment.
• Ability to create and upload H5P content.
• Knowledge of Kaltura media integration and management.
