Mira Murati (born 16 December 1988) is an Albanian[1][2] engineer and business manager who has been serving as chief technology officer of OpenAI since 2018.[3]
She briefly served as interim chief executive officer of OpenAI from 17 to 20 November 2023.[4][5]
Early life and education[edit]
Murati was born on 16 December 1988[6] in Vlorë, Albania.[7] At the age of 16, Murati went to high school at the Pearson United World College of the Pacific on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, from which she graduated in 2005.[8][9] For her undergraduate education, Murati attended Colby College and Dartmouth College.[1
