Ardelyx (ARDX +28.8%) has recorded the biggest intraday gain in over two years on the back of its pre-market announcement of the launch of IBSRELA (tenapanor) in Q2 2022 for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in adults.

In reaction, Citi has lifted the price target for the biotech from $7 to $13, implying more than 15 times its closing price on Monday.

The increase in price target follows the analysts’ decision to consider their estimated U.S. revenue for IBSRELA in IBS-C, which is in line with management guidance of peak $500M sales projected in 2029.

The firm also points out that the upcoming launch could divert attention from an uncertain outcome from the Formal Dispute Resolution (FDR) with the FDA for hyperphosphatemia, which the analysts noted as the company’s only near-term catalyst previously.

In July, the FDA decided not to approve tenapanor developed by Ardelyx (NASDAQ:ARDX) to control serum phosphorus in adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on dialysis.

Actionable Items

1. Get seeking alpha as soon as possible. Read more articles on Seeking alpha. 
2. ARDX, I should have read at least five articles on SeekingAlpha.com. I could not get detail from Yahoo -> Finance -> Conversation; 
3. There are a few more opportunities to get more gains during investment; Most important is to spend at least 90% of time to evaluate risk, downside 25%, and upside 100% in a day; Try to make profit from 0% to 50%. 
4. Do not worry about too much after first purchase; prepare chance to add more shares when ARDX dropped to $1.11/ share, after my 5000 shares at price $1.44; 
5. Set up selling price; Take some risk. I should evaluate the greedy of retail investors and institutional investors, and give myself chance to get extra gains; 
6. Prepare better next time, do better research on the selected stock. 
7. Steps I follow: Finviz.com, screener, ARDX $7 -> $1.8, made purchase 10 shares, and  noticed the drop of price from 1.8 to 1.1, and then made second purchase, had gain less than $100 dollars; start to work on research; and keep 10 shares to watch. Rebound, and then tried to get in. 
8. Work better on preparation.
