Stock research: GE stock - count how many billions of debt

May 21, 2020

Introduction

It is important for me to get some stock when price is low, specially I like to choose companies like GE. I like to learn more about business and how many debts in billion GE has right now.

Debt issues

Here is the article.

GE business segments:

  1. renewable energy (wind)
  2. conventional energy (gas turbines)
  3. healthcare (medical imaging equipment)

These include renewable energy (wind), conventional energy (gas turbines) and healthcare (medical imaging equipment). Gas turbines in particular could see demand rise with increased use of gas for electricity generation.

After famed CEO Jack Welch took the helm in 1981, GE stock returned an astounding 4,280% to investors in the 20 years through 2001.

4280% return - 40 times more

48 billion in industrial debt - nearly twice the level of a typical industrial company
Pension obligation of $100 billion as areas of worry

price target is $8.53 - suggesting 37% upside over the next 12 months

$35 billion in available lines of credit from banks
$2 billion worth of operational cost-cutting measures

37% upside over the next 12 months - I like this number.
