Case study: weekend work for Victoria portfolio

Feb. 2, 2020

Introduction

It is so important for me to learn how to invest. I do not want to time the market, and also I like to discipline myself to stay 60% equity and 40% of bond. I need to plan ahead in 2020, how much should I purchase equity fund?

Case study

My TFSA account is tax free, and I have limit of $65,000 dollars. I like to move the fund from Scotia checking account to TFSA.

Right now, I have $5,000 dollars on balanced fund, $20,000 on equity funds like VFV.TO and VDU.TO, and I need to set up $65,000 dollars properly.

$24,000 for bond, $36,000 dollars for equity fund.

I like to purchase some VUN ETF, and Nasdaq 100 index ETF, information technology ETF as well. I like to take some risk and seek high return in 2020.
