My 10 years career in Canada

August 24, 2019

Introduction

It is the first time I can hold a software programmer job lasting 10 years from 2010 to 2019. I like to write a short blog and look into what I should work on.

10 years career

I started to learn how to work on myself in terms of problem solving skills after 2015. I learn that there is need and wants. What I like to do is to focus on needs, not wants. I like to really enhance myself as a problem solver, algorithm and data structure practice really is a good choice for me to be employable as a software engineer.

I went to Amazon onsite in the city of Seattle on June 8, 2018. After that, I was thinking about how to find a medium size company so that I can learn more and get challenged. To find a job in Amazon or in USA is too challenging for me.

I went back to my daily work, and continued to work on algorithm and data structure practice. This August 2019, I went to Facebook onsite interview in MPK campus in California.

One thing I can control is to work on more algorithm and data structure practice. I can really push hard on this and make myself competitive on this area. I also like to share my experience, write on more topics on Leetcode.com.

I went to Amazon onsite on August 15, 2019, I was asked how you find time to solve so many algorithms. I solved 420 algorithm. It took me four years to practice from January 2015 to August 2019.

I went to Facebook onsite on August 20, I was told that since you work on Leetcode and solve a lot of algorithms. Have you solved the problem before? Should I change another algorithm.

Personal finance

Another thing I can work on is to learn how to manage my personal finance. I have to take consideration of how good I can manage money, living expenses and investment. It is very important for me to evaluate how big risk I can take and my asset I have.

Weight control

Another thing I have to learn and work on is to control my weight. I like to keep my weight under 180 lb. Always try to keep same weight as Canada top tennis player Bianca Andreescu same weight, 176 lb.
