Principal Product Manager | Microsoft

 Our team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our cross-discipline product development team. You’re passionate about working with your design, data science, software development and business planning colleagues to define and deliver clear product strategy. The Principal Product Manager candidate is passionate about photo and video media as forms of communication, personal expression and as tools for modern productivity.


You are self-directed and collaborative, passionate about customers and committed to delivering high impact results. You have efficient strategy formulation and partner management skills, a passion for user-focused product development and proven track record delivering impactful products.

Responsibilities

  • Drive all phases of the product life cycle from establishing Product Market Fit and defining Go-to-Market strategy and success metrics to product delivery and post release analysis and improvements.
  • As part of defining Go-To-Market strategy, develop revenue targets and growth strategies in collaboration with business planning, other internal partners.
  • Grow our business through increased retention, engagement, subscription renewal and premium feature conversion across a portfolio of experiences.
  • Leverage user research, data analysis and customer outreach to define product strategy and roadmap over a 2-3 year horizon.
  • Effectively communicate product goals, status, risks, and plans to all levels of the organization.
  • Evangelize customer value, collaborate on approach and influence product roadmaps for media experiences across the Microsoft product ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with multiple partners across organizational boundaries.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
o OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Builds trust with a targeted selection of customers across sectors. Orchestrates a line of communication with complex and advanced customers to capture feedback and insights through the product development lifecycle. Ensures the vision is aligned with customer goals. Leads customer communities and customer engagement programs. Responds to real-time customer feedback in online portals. Understands and drives improvements in the support process, including both forums and communities.
  • Provides expertise to partner with others (e.g., Data Science, Software Engineering [SWE], Hardware Engineering [HWE], User Research) to collect performance metrics (e.g., key performance indicators [KPIs] such as engagement, usage, acquisition, revenue, and in-project features), monitor and report on progress (e.g., business reviews), and derive deep insights and drives productive courses of action across teams to improve product/feature development, iteration, and implementation. Leverages customer listening systems, telemetry, engagements (e.g., interviews, surveys), etc., to develop insights on product performance and customer needs. Shares insights with SWE, HWE, and other partners. Forms hypotheses to complex technical needs, performs experiments, iterates, and tests to drive improvement/adoption in specific performance metrics that have broad impact on multiple areas.
  • Previous experience establishing Product Market Fit and Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Have worked through multiple full product development cycles from initial design through launch and into live operations.
  • Familiarity with navigating complex organizations; ability to influence others.
  • Comfortable dealing with the ambiguity of new products, scenarios and incubation work.
  • Experience with industry-standard product management methodologies.
  • Enthusiasm for video and media.
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $132,800 - CAD $247,200 per year.
