On January 5, 2024, Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 experienced a door plug blowout shortly after takeoff from Portland, Oregon, resulting in an emergency landing. The incident involved a Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft and caused a rapid depressurization of the cabin. While there were no serious injuries reported among the 177 passengers and crew, the incident led to investigations by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
