Introduction
It is important for me to learn how to time the market. I like to write down lessons I learned from my investing experience.
INTC stock investment
I purchased 170 shares when Intel had an earning day with over 10% losses on stock price. I purchased 200 shares in the same day. I should start to purchase 20 shares, since next three days there are another 10% loss. Over one month, the loss of 170 shares of Intel stocks is near 10%.
After the recovery, I was so happy since I can finally invest again with Ameritrade balance over $20,000 dollars. I purchased 200 shares of market price, 52.5, which is too high. I should set stop loss, suddenly there was market crash, I did not sell the shares, and then I tried to catch rebound using FB and MSFT stock. I sold INTC stocks, and then purchased FB stock and MSFT.
Now I have over $604 dollars loss. I like to practice trading and see if I recover some of losses. I had $50 dollar dividend from 170 share INTC stock.
Better planning
I should set purchase of Intel stock 70 shares at price $50.20, I tried to time the market and purchased 50 shares at price $50.20/ share.
Another idea is to purchase 20 shares in the morning, and later at lower price another 50 shares.
