Introduction
It is my tenth year on my current job. But I am not ready for job change. I need to get two to three years in Facebook or Microsoft or Amazon, get more learning so that I can be competitive for jobs in the market. I stay on my current job, and push myself to learn more about my weakness and strength, what to make myself more competitive as a 53 year old.
My passion and my ambitious with Microsoft
I got my first onsite interview back in 2008 from Microsoft in the city of Seattle. But I only had two rounds and then I was rejected for further rounds.
Things were not turning my direction until I failed Canada permanent resident application in Dec. 2008. I had to start 10 months lawsuit from January 2009 to Oct. 2009 to reopen my immigration case.
I did not learn the lesson since the interview was in September, and then after less than five months, my Canada skilled worker immigration was denied in December 2009. I did not follow up with a proof to provide $10,000 dollar bank letter to provide sufficient fund. I hired the consultant and he did not tell me, but I did not learn how to follow the process of immigration since I paid a consultant.
Starting from June 2016, I got three Amazon onsites, two Facebook onsite, now I got invitation for a Microsoft phone screen. I have to push myself to work hard, and then I can pass Microsoft phone screen first time in my life.
What I learned from Microsoft phone screen
It is my favorite algorithm to work on in the phone screen. I did learn so many things to work with the interviewer.
I do think that I have to work on c# programming language and then master C# programming language first, like mastering C# LinkedList all APIs, and how to write all features using those APIs first in order to pass phone screen from Microsoft. (It should be second time. I had my first onsite from Microsoft in Sept. 2008.)
Life and work is tough and I like to keep learning. I like to be a better programmer and start my new journey as a better learner as a C# programmer.
