Introduction
It is difficult situation to be an investor. I have to play with so many emotions, and then I also like to document the experience. I like to make a business plan with today purchase: CVE and HSE stocks.
Business plan
I have to learn how to discipline myself, and also learn how to fight unknown addiction or other negative terms developing through this stock crisis.
I like to play by rules, and also think clearly.
Fear missing out
First I reviewed my performance from March 20 to June 11, a lot of stock went up more than 100%, but my performance with 64500 dollars only has less than 3000 dollars. I am not top 5. I am in top 10, since I do not lose the money.
Down risk, up reward
There is down risk, the risk is 50%. I believe that index SPX 2200 is lowest one. Up reward may be 100%.
Since March 27 oil stocks I purchased has $1600 dollars gains up to June 11, 2020. So I like to take $1500 loss, assuming that 50% stock drop, so I like to purchase $3000 dollars.
If there is gain on this purchase, I will sell the half profit, wait another down turn, SPX 3100.
I do not like to continue to purchase March 27, 2020 oil stocks. I like to learn more about Canada business, more learning after stock purchase.
It is important for me to try out risk to invest in individual stocks. I like to get more return compared to SPX, and I like to learn how to measure the risk.
Actionable Items
I have to pray and learn that it is such a privilege to have a full time job during coronavirus, so that I can practice stock market and learn how to invest.
Whatever I lose, I still have income from full time job.
I should start to work on this principle: Do not lose money; Keep long term investment like VBAL.TO, I should purchase stocks based on the principle. Take some risk. Do not time the market. Invest for potential return.
Do not care about market value too much.
The truth is I should purchase more on March 27, 2020. That is the first time I learn the market and powerful rebound in 3 business days - $5000 dollars return.
