90% of Americans don’t like to cook—and it’s costing them thousands each year

It’s easier than ever not to cook, and Americans are taking advantage of that. The average household spends an average of $3,008 per year on dining out, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports.
However, what you save in convenience, you lose in cold, hard cash.

For those with the means to spend an exorbitant amount on food, this epidemic might not register as an issue. But the majority of Americans can’t afford such a costly habit — not when it comes at the expense of being unprepared for an emergency, or, worse, having nothing left for retirement.
